Founding NetExpat
The Idea for NetExpat
It all started with a rejected relocation!
In 1998, Nathalie Brotchi had the opportunity to accept a promotion with her then employer Pfizer, and to relocate her family to North America.
Sounds like a great opportunity, right?!
Well, as it turns out, it wasn’t a great opportunity for the whole family. Not least for Nathalie’s partner, Alain who was working for Shell and would need to leave that role and secure a new job as part of their relocation.
At the time, there was little to no help and support available to Alain and it became clear that the hurdles involved would outweigh the opportunity.
In addition, no cultural training was on offer and again, they’d have to figure this out for themselves.
As a result, Nathalie declined the opportunity to relocate, and the seed of an idea formed. They could deliver a far enriched experience to similar relocating families, with a focus on the relocating partner/spouse, and cultural training for the family.
NetExpat was born.
Success and Growth
Over 2 decades later, NetExpat has grown from their first client, Dupont, to become the market leader in delivering support in their two core service lines.
Sticking to what we do really well, the team has grown to be present in over 85 countries, supporting over 200 multi-national clients around the globe. NetExpat has also become the recognized service partner for the majority of the Relocation Management Companies.
Alain and Nathalie continue to run the organization with the same level of passion and energy that they had in 1998!
